Who curates the brands listed on founde? Karen and Astrid, the co-founders of founde curate all brands listed,.

Can I apply to have my brand listed on founde? Yes, please fill in our application form here

Do you offer wholesale or bulk purchasing? Some of the brands on founde do offer wholesale or bulk options. You’re welcome to email us at hello@foundeshop.com and we’ll connect you, or feel free to reach out to the brand directly.

How can I stay updated on new arrivals and brand launches? The best way is to subscribe to our mailers where we share news, product drops, and offers that you won’t always find anywhere else.

Do you have a physical shop I can visit? We’re an online-only space but, some of the brands we feature might have physical locations. Feel free to contact them directly to find out more.

Ordering and Products

Can I place an order without creating an account? Yes

Can I buy from more than one brand in a single order? Yes, we ship all items in our store directly from founde so you can mix and match brands you purchase from at no extra cost.

How do I know what size or fit to choose on apparel or jewellery? Size charts and info around sizing are provided on all relevant listings.

Are all products listed really made in South Africa? Yes, they really are.

What payment methods do you accept?

Is it safe to shop on founde? Yes. Your payment and personal info are in safe hands. We’re powered by Shopify with built in security along with Payfast.io and Happy Pay for secure, verified payments. All transactions are encrypted and processed through certified channels.

None of your payment details are recorded or stored by us.

Product Care & Authenticity

How do I care for my item? Each brand provides any important care info (where relevant) in product listings, as well as on products themselves.

Where can I learn more about each brand’s materials and process? Each brand on founde provides information about materials and processes. If you want further info, please don't hesitate to contact us at hello@foundeshop.com

How do I know I’m buying original products from the brand? Every brand on founde is carefully selected for their commitment to originality: no replicas, no copies, just honest, independent work. We partner directly with the creators behind each brand, so what you see comes straight from the source. We also trust people at their word. That’s part of how we do things here. We believe in building a space grounded in respect and transparency, and we do our best to work only with people who feel the same way.

What is the return policy?

To initiate a return, either visit your account page and log a return through the site.
OR: email hello@foundeshop.com with your order number and reason for return. Once approved, we’ll provide return instructions.

Please note:

  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer (unless we have sent you a faulty or incorrect product)
  • We recommend a tracked service, we will not be not liable for lost returns

Non-returnable Items: Due to hygiene and safety reasons, used or opened raw materials, items from custom orders or promotions, are non-returnable. We do not accept returns on:

  • Body care products (for hygiene reasons)
  • All custom or made-to-order items
  • Sale or discounted items (unless defective)
  • Gift cards cannot be returned or exchanged for cash
What if my order is damaged?

Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately at hello@foundeshop.com if the item is defective, damaged, or if you received incorrect products or quantities. This allows us to investigate and resolve the issue promptly.

Eligibility for a refund: To be eligible for a refund you must notify us within 7 business days of receiving your parcel; otherwise, refunds will not be considered. Once we receive your formal communication, we will review the matter and inform you of the outcome. If a return is necessary, we will thoroughly inspect the product and notify you via email within a reasonable time frame whether you qualify for a replacement due to a defect. If eligible, a replacement product will be sent to you.

What if I change my mind about an order?

We do not offer refunds for change of mind or incorrect purchases. However, if you’re unsatisfied, please contact us within 7 business days at hello@foundeshop.com. A 10% handling fee may apply if the product is unused, in its original packaging, and in its original condition.

You can also visit your account page and log a return through the site.

What if something I ordered goes out of stock?

If an item you’ve ordered becomes unavailable after purchase and is not able to be restocked, founde shop t/a Braver Trading SA (Pty) Ltd. reserves the right to cancel part or all of your order. In such cases:

  • You will receive a full refund for the cancelled item(s), issued back to your original form of payment.
  • We will notify you via email of any cancellations or refunds related to your order.

International shipping: We offer shipping to 20+ countries, simply enter your country at checkout to see if your is included.

How much does shipping cost? Costs will be calculated at checkout.

Can I track my order? Yes, we will send you tracking info when your order is fulfilled.

Do I have to pay customs or import duties if I'm outside South Africa? Customers are responsible for any import duties, taxes, and related charges imposed by their destination country. Founde is not liable for these fees, and we encourage all international customers to check their country’s import policies before placing an order.

Shipping is calculated based on your location and the items in your order. You will always know the shipping price before you place your order.

Do I pay taxes or customs?

Do I have to pay customs or import duties if I'm outside South Africa? Customers are responsible for any import duties, taxes, and related charges imposed by their destination country. Founde is not liable for these fees, and we encourage all international customers to check their country’s import policies before placing an order.

The courier company will contact you to clear your package.

If you refuse to pay the customs the item will automatically be returned to us - upon which we will have the right to keep any costs for return shipping and taxes upon it's return.

How do I know what ring size to order?

What is the return policy?

Custom made products: No exchanges, refunds or exchanges on custom made items, unless the item is received with physical damage or fault.

How to return an item: if an item needs to be returned it must be done in all original packing and all items must be clean, unworn, unwashed & unused.

Return Credit: you will be credited with the ZAR amount of the returned item in the form of a Founde Shop online voucher or credit. 
Please note that courier fees will be deducted from the credit amount.

When will I get my order?

If you order an item that is in-stock we will ship it within 2 working days (given that your order does not include any other product from founde that may be on pre-order or made to order).

If you order a pre-order item then this will take approximately 3-5 weeks as each piece is carved, cast and finished off.

If you have a deadline please contact us before placing your order.

Where is your jewellery made?

Stride and Echo jewellery is made in Cape Town, South Africa.

Braver FAQ's

What is the return policy?

Digital products: No exchanges or refunds on digital services like design top up packages and or design services. These sales are final.

Custom made products: No exchanges, refunds or exchanges on custom made items, unless the item is received with physical damage from our side. We are thorough in this process of creating customs and you will give final approval on any custom before it is printed/embroidered.

How to return an item: if an item needs to be returned it must be done in all original packing and all items must be clean, unworn, unwashed & unused.

Return Credit: you will be credited with the ZAR amount of the returned item in the form of a Braver online voucher. Please note no returns/credits on courier costs. 

Sale items: Sale items can only be exchanged for another size or a Braver voucher. We will happily arrange for a courier to collect from you and deliver to you again, this will be calculated at R95 for local delivery (Cape Town) and R145 for national. We can't guarantee the exchange of limited edition items, as specific sizes may be out of stock and discontinued.

When will I get my order?

Most items are made to order, expect 5-7 working days to complete from date of ordering. If you need it sooner please add a note to your order or email theden@braversa.com and we'll see if we can make your deadline. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with further information. Delivery times vary depending on your location.

Where are your products made?

Our apparel is proudly made in Cape Town, South Africa.

We source our fabrics locally from a Cape Town-based supplier, and every item is sewn by our skilled team of women right here in the city. 

For smaller custom orders, Astrid prints each one by hand in the BRAVER den using high-quality DTF (direct-to-film) techniques, made to order, made with care.

Our large-scale screen printing (including the wholesale side of our business) is handled by our long-time partners whose print shop was founded in 1995, the same year South Africa won our first Rugby World Cup. They team has built a legacy of excellence across screen printing, sublimation, embroidery and more. We’re proud to work with them, and even prouder to keep our entire process local.

Where are your products made?

All of our products are made in-house by us, Karen and Astrid, in Cape Town, South Africa.

If that ever changes as we grow (and bring in a trusted local partner to help us meet demand), we’ll update this section to keep you informed.

Our ingredients are sourced from reliable, local suppliers. We believe in full transparency so you’ll find ingredient details on each product listing. If you’d like to know more, we’d love to hear from you at hello@foundeshop.com.

When will I get my order?

Most of our products are launched in small, ready-made batches, so when you place an order, it’s usually packed and sent out the same day, or the next working day if it’s a weekend or public holiday.

Sometimes we offer limited pre-orders for upcoming batches. If your item is a pre-order, there’ll be a clear note on your order confirmation letting you know when it will ship.

Delivery timelines:
Cape Town: same or next working day
Rest of South Africa: 3–4 working days
International (via FedEx or UPS Priority): 3–5 working days, depending on location

You’ll receive tracking details the moment your order’s on its way.

What is your return policy?

Due to hygiene and safety reasons, we’re unable to accept returns on used or opened body care products. This includes:

  • All body care items
  • Custom or made-to-order products
  • Sale or discounted items (unless defective)
  • Gift cards (non-refundable and not redeemable for cash)

Once your order is delivered in good condition, we can’t be held responsible for damage caused by improper storage (for example, if a jar is left in the sun and melts). We always recommend storing your products in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

What if the whipped body butter feels firm or hard?

Our body butter is naturally firm, especially in cooler months. Simply scoop a small amount and warm it between your hands or directly on your skin. Your body heat will melt it into a smooth, nourishing texture.

Can I use the whipped body butter on my face?

While it's made for the body, the ingredients are gentle and nourishing. Some do use it sparingly on dry patches or as a balm. That said, we always recommend patch testing first if your skin is sensitive or breakout-prone.

Why does my whipped body butter melt in the heat?

Our butter contains no stabilisers or synthetic fillers, only natural oils and butters. In warmer temperatures, it may soften or melt slightly. Store in a cool place, out of direct sunlight, and avoid water contact to keep it fresh.

If it does melt, you can pop it in the fridge to firm it up again but, a heads up: the texture may change. Once melted and reset, it loses its original whipped feel. Still lovely, just not as airy and smooth as intended.

Are your products gender neutral?

Completely. Our scent blends are subtle and carefully balanced, no overpowering florals or strong perfumes. We’ve formulated it for every body.

Are your products safe for sensitive skin?

Our formulations are free from added fragrance and made with cold-pressed oils and gentle essential oils. That said, every skin is unique and patch testing is always a good idea. If you're extra sensitive, we’ve created a Fragrance Free option too, made only with refined and unrefined shea butter, which naturally smells like white chocolate (yes, really).
